Cancellation Policy

Joy Mental Fitness LLC maintains a 24-hour cancellation policy. The time scheduled for your appointment is assigned to you and you alone. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you provide us with 24 hours’ notice. If you miss a session without canceling, or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged for a fee unless we both agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control. If it is possible, we will try to find another time to reschedule the appointment. In addition, you are responsible for coming to your session on time. If you are late, your appointment will still need to end on time.


Joy Mental Fitness LLC is in-network provider with Lyra, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, and CIGNA. All other insurance plans are considered “out-of network” and we will supply you with a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that not all insurance companies reimburse for out-of-network providers.


After the first appointment, we schedule next appointment at the beginning of the session to avoid the interruption of thorough processes at the end of the session. Therapy sessions usually last 45-50 minutes, and we must end each session promptly.

Telehealth Psychotherapy

We offer online therapy for both safety and convenience.
Telehealth Psychotherapy is conducted via a secure and confidential video platform. You will be sent a secure and confidential link to access your therapist’s private virtual telehealth psychotherapy office prior to your appointment.

Professional Fees

Please contact us directly about fees for various services. Payment is expected at the time of the service. Debit card (including HSA and FSA accounts) and credit card, cash are all accepted. As part of our police we keep a credit card on file in my secure online system for all clients. This credit card will be charged the day of your appointment for the session fee we agreed upon unless a 24 hour cancellation is provided or if we have other payment options arranged.

Preparing For Your First Appointment

Prior to our first appointment, we will send you a link to our confidential client portal where you will find information about our practice, confidentiality in therapy and forms where you can provide some information about yourself. You will also receive a text message from our secure online system to put your credit card information in. The initial appointment/evaluation will focus on your history. It is often helpful to think about any significant life events or recent changes that are contributing to the challenges which led you to seek treatment. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have and/or share any concerns about starting therapy.
If you have been in therapy before or have taken psychiatric medication in the past, please take some time to write down your treatment history.
